Mission practice
Hey Everyone, back at it again with another email.
Dec 31, 2019 Tues
Today was the final day of 2020 and a P-Day, so it was pretty solid. Got up and ready, Breakfast, classes, practice, lunch, prep time; including family talk which was great, emailing, then chilled, sketched, and played games. We had dinner, and classes. Did a teaching and then got ready for bed. The year is over which is nuts!

Happy New Year! It's a New Year yet absolutely nothing new today. Same old schedule with classes and meals. We did have a service project which was washing cars. Elder Memmott splashed the car with a bucket of water and I was squatting next to the car washing it. He got me soaked, which was fine cause it was hot. After the service project back to normal schedule of exercise, classes, etc. The days are starting to blur together.

Today was awesome! Started normal w/ classes on conversation (easy for me), then we all went to the Joburg Temple! The air conditioning was not on the whole time, I was dying! But the temple was still great, its smaller than the Sacramento Temple, but the grounds are beautiful, so lush and green. After the temple we came back to the MTC, had dinner, watched devotional w/ Elder Gong, had treats, and got ready for bed. Had an awesome time today.

Today was awesome! Started with classes/practice, then after lunch we went out tracting with the Joburg Missionaries! All Elders went on splits but the sisters couldn't, I felt bad and Sister Wall was so mad. I was on splits with Elder Santos from Brazil. It was cool just walking, talking, knocking, gawking...at the different houses and housing. We handed out like 8 Restoration Pamphlets, 2 books of Mormon, and got to teach one lesson. Also got called "Demons" by a lady who's door we knocked on, that was fun. All the Elders were on a spiritual high and were so stoked. It was so cool. Afterwards we had dinner and classes then bed. It was so good today.
***Parental Note*** Splits are when a companionship of two divides up (or splits) and joins with a new partner for the day. They did this with missionaries that are already out in the mission field serving in Johannesburg. So he got to see a little bit of the city.

Today was alright. We had classes all morning and they were fine. After lunch we began our fast cause tomorrow is Fast Sunday and for some reason we began our fast early. So we had no exercise time and more time of pointless class time in which we did little to nothing. We had no dinner, then we had Teaching Practice in which we got bible bashed by a new investigator. And that shook my confidence in teaching. I got really upset at myself because I got flustered and defensive, but you live and learn. I guess. My companions actually helped me out and I started to feel more like me which is good.

Today was great. I felt much better. Fast & testimony meeting was great. All were required to bare their testimonies which was cool. I bore mine on examples and how because of the many I have in my life, I feel a responsibility to be a good example, but I recognized Jesus Christ is the greatest example of love and service. After that was priesthood on B.o.M and district meetings/personal study before blessed lunch, my fast is over. I also met an Elder from Folsom in the Joburg Mission. I don't remember exactly the name, I think it was Pueblos or something like that, but it really made my day. After, we had classes, studies, dinner, FHE (which was Jeopardy and my team won). But all and all so Good.
Jan 6, 2020 Mon
Today was a bit of a confidence booster in my abilities to use my testimony in lessons. We had a teaching visit w/ Sister "Lucy" and it went really well (later our teacher told us my companionship did the best). We had a blast during exercise time playing football. Had fun just talking with each other and joking around. These Elders are awesome. I wanna talk to Sisters but it's like they're avoiding the Elders. C'mon we don't smell...that bad. We had another teaching practice in class and I was able to bare a testimony about how God helps us in trials and Christ understands our pains.
In final thoughts, I love you all, would love to hear from all of you, send emails and pics. I know that what I'm doing is right and good. I love this gospel and encourage you to come see what we are about. Us missionaries would appreciate it. Love y'all.
Love

***More Notes from The Parents***
Elder Bradford still seems really happy to be at the MTC, although he and the others are getting antsy to get into the mission field. The instruction usually lasts only 3 weeks but this group gets to be there 4 weeks thanks to the "No Fly Week". So they get an extra week of training and will be departing to their various missions on the 15th. He says that he has learned all he can from the books and just needs the real life experience to learn more. He says that he will most likely be going out on splits again next week as well as going to the Johannesburg Temple. So he is excited about that. He said that his next P-day will be all about cleaning up and packing in preparation to leave the next day so he won't have much time to write or call. He thinks he only gets 15 minutes to read emails and send out a quick note. He says that he has only received a couple of emails from friends and wants to know what they are up to. So if you are his friend, drop him a line.
His email is: sean.bradford@missionary.org
Thanks for supporting our boy!
Here are a couple pictures of the Johannesburg Temple. These are from The Church's website and not Sean's. He says that he has taken lots of pictures and he can't wait to start emailing them to us.
