So long Joburg!

So this last week has been nuts, let’s get into it.

Jan 7,2020 Tues
Today was P-Day and it was pretty good, we had classes, teaching visit, and practice (and during practice we got sprayed by sprinklers and my scriptures got wet) After lunch was P-Day, we cleaned, I talked to fam, played football, played uno had a lot of fun. We had dinner then had classes that were good.

Today was a working day nothing super notable. Classes/teaching practice and some messing around w/ fellow missionaries. Exercise time was great, played volleyball, watched BOM (Book of Mormon) videos in class, dinner, classes and that was pretty much it.

Today was great. Classes were ok, we had not our greatest teaching practice, so that was tough, but we went to the temple again! The temple was great. I came in feeling conflicted and came out feeling at peace. Had fun with Elders, had a talk with my companions and told my life’s story best I could (that was something we started doing to get to know each other) then the whole MTC watched Ephram's Rescue which is such a great movie, I cried when Dobby died(watch it and you will see I’m a bad person) After that was bed and rest.

Today was sweet. Classes were good, our practice teaching went a lot better than yesterday and other practices were so fun. After lunch we went out with the Joburg missionaries again. This week I was with Elder Esele, but I did see Elder Santos from last week. Elder Esele and I taught this lady named Rose who was very passionate about the Bible and God and she loved everything we said up until the BOM and Joseph Smith so we invited her to pray about it. Elder Esele said it seemed I had been teaching for a while which was cool. He’s from Uganda btw.

Today I had my exit interview with Pres Bester and in it I received things to remember. The biggest thing was “the Lord will shape me into what He wants me to be” Other than that we had classes the exercise time in which we played volleyball which was great. Something Sister Bester had us do was write something nice about everyone in the MTC and we got it back at the end of the day. My favorite was "A good friend and always gets along with everyone with movie references and jokes" that explains me perfectly.

Today was very spiritual. Sacrament meeting was great. I got called to give my testimony, which I felt was gonna happen. Priesthood , District meeting, and freetime were all great. FHE was really cool. It was on following the spirit. After that we watched "The Infinite Gift" which was great and explains the Atonement of Jesus Christ perfectly. After that we were instructed to give our companions blessings. Magill gave one to Memmott, I gave one to Magill, Memmott gave one to me. In it were some great things. My favorite was "I will continue to bless people after my mission" So wonderful.

Today was our last class day. We had morning classes in which we did little to nothing cause we are out of things to learn about. Exercise time was fun we played football and I actually did good. Then classes, dinner, classes, goodbye to evening teachers. Bro Jantijies and Sis Orchird were my teachers and they were awesome. During pres meeting Pres Bester had us sing a fire remix of I hope they call me on a mission. So good.

Today was our last day at the MTC. We had a very chill morning. After lunch I took pics with Bro Wills and he gave me 2 bits of advice; the little things count and don't cave on my standards. I know through multiple people now that I will be challenged greatly. We packed our bags, did quick emails, read some emails from friends (which I really appreciate). Then we had a last Pres meeting where we ending singing Called to Serve. So Great.

Today we left. At 5:30 to the airport, checked in at 7:00, and flight left at 9:35. It was so sad splitting up to go to our missions. I plan on seeing everyone again. The flight was good, the drive to the mission home... not so much, the roads are better in Cali, so they're pretty bad here. Mission Pres Chatora and Sister Chatora greeted us at the airport and once we got to the mission home we did an orientation, Pres Interviews, had dinner followed by bed.

I have made it! 23 more months to go! I'm excited and scared at the same time, but I know that the Lord will provide a way to do what he commanded me to. I know this church is true and through my hard work, my family and friends will be blessed. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen

Love, Elder Bradford
