The Last Week of The Strangest Transfer
He's back! Who's back? I'm back! Back home? No! Im back with another update for y'all! (Don't know why I did that intro) Anyway let's get to it!
December 7, 2020 Mon
Today was P-Day! It was awesome! We joined Saucier & his companion Ricks, Ferguson & his greenie Mears, Williams & his greenie Mandelin, and Knowles & his greenie Draper on a hike in Zion National Park. It was so fun to be around some of the Homies from Hurricane. We also went to lunch afterwards, as well as played some B-Ball. After all that we chilled, showered, talked to fam, went shopping a bit, then had 3 lessons with members in the evening!
December 8, 2020 Tues
Today was the beginning of the online Mission Tour with Elder Cornish of the Seventy. We have a morning and afternoon Sessions for the next few days over Zoom. The morning one is trainings and the afternoon one is a Doctrinal discussion. The first session was good, then we had a couple hour break, during which I got my staples removed (hallelujah) and we got Cappriotti's for lunch. It was special. First heard about the place from Magill back in the day. And oh my...its something special. After that was the second session which was a lesson on the blessings and meaning of repentance. It was so good! Then we had a few sweet member lessons, a Stake/Mission President Meeting, and we were given some candy and snowflakes taped to our door by one of the ward’s Young Women groups.

Today started out with another Mission training, then our lunch break, then a discussion/Q&A on "Letting God Prevail" which was really awesome. Elder Cornish even answered a question I had. After that Bates and I had a couple of member lessons, weekly planning, and a walk. One of the lessons was so fun, the family was just hilarious.
December 10, 2020 Thurs
Mission Tour continued and it was good. I enjoyed it. Other than that we had a couple of member lessons, went on a small exchange with the Zone Leaders. I went with Elder Jenson (He was my previous District Leader if you can remember that), we just chatted for a while which was nice.
December 11, 2020 Fri
Today we had the final session of the Mission Tour. Elder Cornish shared some final thoughts on how to be a consecrated missionary which was awesome. After that Bates and I didn't have a lot going on. Half of our lessons rescheduled, so when Gish called and asked if we wanted to come film the music video for the Gospel of Jesus Christ Rap, we were down. It was really fun. Gish, Saucier, and their companions were there. We filmed for less than an hour then split off. Bates and I had a couple of member lessons which were good and then I started editing the music video. I'm so STOKED for it!

Today was a bit more relaxed. Bates is the District Leader so we went on exchanges with Spotten & Campbell. I was with Campbell and got to know him much better, he's a cool dude. After exchanges Bates and I had 2 lessons then dinner. I finished the Gospel of Jesus Christ Rap, wrote our weekly email, and chilled a bit. The GoJC rap is so freaking sweet! I'm very happy with how it turned out! Also one of the members we met with gave us a Christmas goodie basket!
December 13, 2020 Sun
Today we had a busy schedule. We had a meeting at 7:00 am, went to 3 wards, had 4 member lessons, and stake correlation. The member lessons were really good, one of them took our picture and sent them to our parents, they also lived in Sacramento for a bit, but left...because they lived in a not so great part of downtown... seems reasonable.
December 14, 2020 Mon
Today was honestly really good. We had a few lessons and went on exchanges with Hanson and Butler, which was awesome. Then we helped with our Stake's food drive at which I had such a good time. We also had some help from Elder Jenson and his greenie Elder Knight as well as the spanish Sisters for a bit. Transfer news came out. Bates is being transferred to Zone Leader Trainer, and I will be in Little Valley in a trio until I leave for Uganda. My companions are Elders Jenks and Sudweeks. Also Gish, Saucier, and Hanson will all now be training! It should be an interesting transfer!
I mentioned earlier that I had asked Elder Cornish a question. My question was "How has your mission helped you Let God Prevail in your life after it?"
His answer wasn't very direct, but I really enjoyed it.
He said that the mission is the hardest, but simplest thing in life and as soon as I get home life won't be simple. Because on a mission you are dedicated to serving the Lord and that is your purpose and focus, but as soon as you are home you have a lot more to think and worry about.
He also said that the mission is a practice ground for how to Let God Prevail in your life. A practice ground for asking the question "What would please my Heavenly Father?" Helping you understand that you must do what pleases God because it makes God happy, but also you happy.
The distractions of the world are powerful. I know I will have to face it again. I recently looked back in my journal when I came home for the “Intermission” and saw that at one point I felt I had lost my purpose. Life wasn't as fulfilling as in the field, but that does not need to be the case.
As we Let God Prevail and help Him and ask for Him to help us, we recieve peace and purpose, focus and assurity, hope and love. This I promise in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
I love you all! I hit my year this next week! I wanna hear from you I love you! I feel your love and prayers always! Thank you!
